Michelle da Silva Richmond’s cruise experience began when she sailed from New York City to Rio de Janiero as a child when her family moved to Brazil. Since then she has been on scores of ships and firmly believes that this is the best way to see the world.
Michelle is an award-winning travel editor and member of the Society of American Travel Writers (SATW), American Society of Journalists and Authors (ASJA), NY Travel Writers Association and New England Travel Writer’s Network.
As travel editor of Mexico’s English language daily, “The News” she was awarded the Lowell Thomas Award sponsored by SATW and was one of 25 journalists from around the world selected by the Swiss government to cover their 700th Anniversary of Confederation.
Michelle co-authored the Crown Insider’s Guide to Mexico with Florence Lemkowitz and contributed to: Frommer’s, Fodor’s and Fisher’s Guides to Mexico. She was a longtime contributor to Hemispheres and Continental Airlines in-flight magazines and contributes to many cruise books, newspapers and magazines.
A widely published travel journalist, she is a contributor to USA Today 10 Best, travel correspondent for PeterGreenberg.com, Honeymoon editor at: www.bellaonline.com and Cancun/Riviera Expert for both About.com and AFAR.com.
