Celebrity’s “Taste of San Francisco” pop-up restaurant

I do love the city of San Francisco (I wrote a blog about it earlier this year, for those of you who missed it) because of the variety of things it offers for people of all ages and interests.

I am drawn to visit there again and again, because things are always changing, and delightful new experiences await every time we holiday in the city.

I wasn’t surprised, then, to see that Celebrity Cruises is in agreement about all San Francisco has to offer; they’ve chosen the port as the site of the first ever cruise line pop-up restaurant.  Choosing the Stable Cafe in the Mission District as their base of operations, Celebrity will be bringing an “earth and sea” theme to the public via Celebrity’s Director of Culinary Operations, James Beard-featured chef John Suley.

EventBrite has this description of the experience on their website:

“Elegant simplicity. Modern pairings. Abundance of earth and sea. These themes inspire the menu at the first-ever cruise line pop-up restaurant, debuting in San Francisco when Celebrity Cruises brings its award-winning, fresh-from-scratch cuisine from sea to land. Enjoy a taste of modern luxury as Celebrity’s own James Beard-featured chef John Suley and his team present a very special menu rich with unexpected flavors, delicate textures, and of-the-moment culinary techniques, all for your enjoyment. Artful, decadent dessert and locally inspired beverages will complete the experience.”

The event is coming up quickly (November 14th and 15th, 2012), and there are a very limited number of tickets left.  Invites have already gone out via Tasting Table to many San-Francisco subscribers, but you can also get the tickets here.  Attendees will also be entered to win a 7-night Alaska cruise for two on the Celebrity Solstice in 2013.
