Celebrity Cruises to kick off 10th anniversary of Galapagos vacations with new book featuring guests’ own content

The sentiment expressed by nearly every guest who experiences Celebrity Cruises’ Galapagos Islands vacations comes down to a few simple adjectives: unforgettable, transformative, magnificent. Celebrity Cruises announced today that it is curating a guest-driven commemorative book that will debut next year to celebrate the modern luxury cruise line’s 10 years in the Galapagos Islands. Past Celebrity Xpedition guests are being invited to be part of this storytelling collective, by way of Celebrity’s Facebook page, to share photos …

Celebrity’s Lawn Club Coming to Big Apple

One of the features that make the Celebrity cruise experience unique on their new Solstice-class ships is The Lawn Club — thousands of square feet of real grass where you can play games, dine, even enjoy a picnic in a private alcove. This month, Celebrity is bringing that same experience — minus the ocean — to New York City’s Grand Central Terminal. On June 10 and 11, they are recreating “The Lawn Club Experience” in Vanderbilt Hall. …

Music lovers rejoice! Celebrity partners with Billboard

I’ve written quite a bit about new and innovative partnerships that the cruise lines are putting together to broaden their appeal to the public, and here’s an interesting new collaboration by Celebrity Cruises. This one should certainly appeal to music lovers: Celebrity has paired with Billboard, the entity that creates the “hot charts” for music.  If you like current music, you’re almost certainly familiar with the Billboard “Hot 100”, the week’s most popular current songs across all …

Celebrity’s “Taste of San Francisco” pop-up restaurant

I do love the city of San Francisco (I wrote a blog about it earlier this year, for those of you who missed it) because of the variety of things it offers for people of all ages and interests. I am drawn to visit there again and again, because things are always changing, and delightful new experiences await every time we holiday in the city. I wasn’t surprised, then, to see that Celebrity Cruises is in agreement …

Our Editor-at-Large sails on Celebrity’s newest ship, the Eclipse, and is considering a family reunion on board

After a marvelous three days at the Fairmont Turnberry Isle resort, it was time to move on to the U.S. debut of Celebrity’s newest Solstice-class ship, the Eclipse. We had a brief lunch with friends at downtown Miami’s Intercontinental Hotel (a wonderful choice; the Beef Wellington was excellent). The Intercontinental is a great spot to consider staying prior to your cruise, as it is only a 10-minute drive to the Port of Miami, the embarkation locale for …

Celebrity Eclipse: What a wonderful selection of endless choices!

Here’s more of what they offer on the new Solstice-class Celebrity Eclipse: Dining What a wonderful selection of endless choices! If only our 20-something sons, Will and Alexander, would have been with us – the unlimited food options might have sent them over the edge! (Last time we went to the Ritz Carlton South Beach, our room service bill was over $3,000…this seems a much better value.) Dinner followed shortly after our arrival on the Eclipse. On …

Celebrity to name its fourth ship the Silhouette; enter sweepstakes to win a Celebrity trip

The word “silhouette” conjures up images of light and shadow, and sleek profiles in the world of design and fashion, so it’s fitting that Celebrity Cruises has named the fourth ship in its stylish Solstice Class fleet Celebrity Silhouette. Like its widely acclaimed sister ships – Celebrity Solstice, which was named “Best Premium Ship” and “Best Rookie Ship” in Travel Weekly’s annual awards gala just last …

Our Equinox cruise is over but great memories still linger…

The Equinox cruise is over but the memories still linger. Well, the last memory wasn’t the best, as debarkation did not go very well. Of course, it was the first time that this ship had visited Ft. Lauderdale but I do believe that the Solstice has been here already so there shouldn’t have been any surprises. The first problem was that the original gangplanks were too steep…so, with about 200 people jammed into the lower level, they …
