When the new Margaritaville at Sea Beachcomber sets sail in January 2027, Zac Brown will be christening the ship as the Beachcomber’s official Godfather.
The honor strengthens a growing partnership that will bring multi-platinum artist and three-time GRAMMY award winner Zac Brown’s music and creative vision to the cruise line’s newest flagship.
“It’s been so much fun working with the Margaritaville at Sea family to bring Same Boat on Beachcomber to life,” Brown said in a press release.

As Godfather, Brown will carry on the longstanding maritime tradition of helping usher a new ship into service and wishing safe travels to the vessel, its crew and all who sail aboard.
“I’m really proud of what we’ve created together, and being named Godfather of Beachcomber is a true honor,” Brown said. “I’m also really thankful for their support of the tour and how this partnership has grown.”
Official Christening on Jan. 9
Brown will officially christen Beachcomber in Miami on Jan. 9, 2027, and mark the occasion with a special onboard performance for guests before the ship departs on its inaugural sailing.
The honorary role builds on a relationship that continues to grow both on land and at sea. Brown collaborated with Margaritaville at Sea to create Beachcomber’s first-of-its-kind Same Boat live music venue, while the cruise line is the presenting sponsor of Zac Brown Band’s current Love & Fear U.S. Tour.

“He shares our belief that great music, memorable experiences and bringing people together can turn a vacation into something much more,” Ivy said. “Zac has already put his own stamp on Beachcomber, and we couldn’t imagine a better person to help us officially welcome her to the fleet.”
Brown’s connection to Beachcomber will come to life at Same Boat, the world’s first artist- designed live music venue at sea, where he has collaborated with Margaritaville at Sea on everything from design and artwork to music programming.
Brown will also headline an exclusive concert in Nassau on Jan. 28, 2027, when Beachcomber, Islander and Paradise come together for the first gathering of the Margaritaville at Sea fleet.

The venue will feature a rotating roster of artists throughout Beachcomber’s inaugural season and is inspired by Brown’s hit song “Same Boat,” which featured Jimmy Buffett on the deluxe edition of Zac Brown Band’s The Comeback.
The venue also celebrates the longstanding musical relationship between Brown and Buffett, a friendship that had a lasting impact on Brown’s career. The two first came together for CMT’s Crossroads and went on to collaborate on hits including “Knee Deep,” along with other performances and musical projects.
Record-Breaking Sold-Out Show
On land, Margaritaville at Sea is serving as presenting sponsor of Zac Brown Band’s 27-show Love & Fear U.S. Tour. At the band’s Aug. 2 performance at Fenway Park, Brown marked a record-breaking 15th consecutive sold-out show.
Brown personally provided a Margaritaville at Sea cruise vacation to every fan in attendance – more than 35,000 concertgoers and $43 million in vacations in what was the largest audience gifting in live entertainment history.
Launching from PortMiami in January 2027, Beachcomber will introduce more than 15 all-new venues alongside longtime Margaritaville at Sea favorites.

The ship will spend its inaugural season sailing four- to eight-night itineraries to the Eastern and Southern Caribbean before repositioning to Galveston in October 2027, where it will offer Margaritaville at Sea’s most diverse and far-reaching itineraries yet to destinations throughout Mexico and the Western Caribbean.
“What I love most is knowing that people are going to step on this ship with their families and friends, have an amazing time and make memories they’ll have forever,” Brown said. “I’m just really excited to be a part of it and can’t wait for people to experience her.”
