They say time flies as you get older. I suppose that is true. It seems as though it was a short time ago that I celebrated a milestone birthday and my son and daughter-in-law invited me to share a June trip to London with them as a birthday gift. Lovely gift, don’t you agree?
I’m truth my birthday was six months ago. Judy, Michael and I leave today.
BUSSES, PLANES AND TRAINS
I came up to Orlando yesterday via the usual Red Coach which picks me up at Ft. Lauderdale Airport and deposits me near the Orlando Airport where my family collects me.
I have been using Red Coach for years and have always loved its convenience and promptness. Yesterday, although my ticket said 11:05 departure, the bus pulled in at 10:43. Fortunately my friend had picked me up early, and I made my ride.
Oddly enough flying Virgin Atlantic from Miami to London, one lands at Heathrow, but Orlando VA flights go into Gatwick. Ergo the bus ride!
So now we head to London and on Sunday when Judy and Michael fly home to Orlando, I will take the train to Paris and a six- day barge trip through Burgundy. The barge, L’Impressionist, is part of European Waterways fleet. I am truly looking forward to it.
But first, we are off to visit the Queen. Okay, a bit of hyperbole, but we will get to the Imperial War Museum, Wimbledon, some theater and have lunch with a friend I met last year on Queen Mary 2.
Stay tuned.
