SILVERSEA ENHANCES ITS LUXURY OFFERINGS IN ANTARTICA…BY BUILDING A HOTEL

Silversea’s New Hotel Project in Puerto Williams: Antarctica Travel has never been better.

If you are a regular reader of All Things Cruise, you may remember how excited we were when Silversea launched the most luxurious ship ever to sail to Antarctica.

To refresh your memory, click this link: THE POLAR REGION’S MOST LUXURIOUS SHIP, SILVERSEA’S SILVER ENDEAVOUR, IS ABOUT TO BECOME EVEN MORE LUXURIOUS – All Things Cruise  But hurry right back because Silversea has just announced some very big news: They’re building a hotel. And because it’s Silversea, this is no ordinary hotel.

Silversea’s Hotel will be at the very tip of South America, in Puerto Williams, Chile

Silversea is one of the only Cruise Lines that feature a full series of cruises called “Antarctica Bridge,” fly-cruises that avoid the infamous Drake Passage, the world’s most dangerous sea route, home to 65 foot-plus waves. And it’s a 620-mile stretch between Cape Horn and Antarctica. By flying its passengers to Antarctica itself, Silver Endeavour avoids the Passage. Note that, for the truly adventurous, two Silversea sister ships, Silver Wind and Silver Cloud, ply the channel in great style and grace and the utmost stability. And since both ships start and end many of their cruises in Puerto Williams, they too will enjoy the pleasures of this uniquely located hotel.

The 150-room hotel is set to be finished by the end of 2025.

And no, it’s not too early to book! (Antarctica Cruises are among the most popular of all itineraries.) Ground was broken for the hotel and the occasion was celebrated on site by Jason Liberty, CEO of Silversea’s Parent, Royal Caribbean Group, Chilean Government Officials and key stakeholders. Mr. Liberty was quoted as saying “As we continue to push the boundaries on the ultimate vacation experience for our guests, this new hotel allows us to offer an unmatched Antarctic expedition that further enhances our diverse portfolio of world-class vacations across our brands.” He went on to say, “Partnering with our experienced teams in Chile, we are providing guests with a unique opportunity to explore one of the world’s most breathtaking and remote destinations that advances our promise to deliver a lifetime of vacations.”

The hotel is in a spectacular location

Perched right above the Beagle Channel, the hotel is going to treat guests to jaw-dropping views of the water and stunning, snow-covered Patagonian peaks. And Silversea isn’t skimping on anything— The place will have all the amenities you’d expect from a luxury stopover—a great restaurant, bar, fitness center, and even a gift shop stocked with local crafts and art that’ll make you want to bring a piece of Patagonia home with you. According to Bert Hernandez, Silversea’s President, “We’re thrilled to enhance the Antarctic travel experience by offering seamless journeys that remove traditional barriers for guests to this region. This development not only differentiates us from other polar expeditions but also reaffirms our commitment to innovation and excellence as Silversea continues to set the standard in experiential luxury travel.”
