MSC Cruises partners on new Brad Pitt Formula 1 movie ‘F1’

Look closely when the high-powered race car roars around the track in the new “F1” movie. See the vivid MSC Cruises logo? That’s right, MSC Cruises has partnered with the eagerly anticipated Formula 1 film.

Brad Pitt stars as former F1 driver Sonny Hayes who backs off after suffering a major crash in the 1990s. Years later, when a struggling F1 team owner portrayed by Academy Award winner Javier Barden, asks Hayes to join APXGP as a second driver, Hayes agrees.

Hayes also becomes an important mentor to young up-and-comer racer Joshua Pierce, played by Damson Idris. The racing feature is due to be released in North American on June 27, 2025. It will be released internationally beginning June 25, 2025.

MSC Cruises’ logo will be featured on the fictional APXGP car was well as on the team kit and on the track at the races in the storyline. MSC Cruises is a Formula 1 Global Partner, having entered into a multi-year deal running through to the end of the 2026 FIA Formula 1 World Championship.

                                                   Partners on many levels

“Formula 1 and MSC Cruises are great partners on many levels and our successes are founded in teamwork. Not only this, but we are both driving towards sustainable change,” Pierfransco Vago, executive chairman, MSC Cruises, said in a press release.

“We want to build the future of our industries and leave a lasting legacy for generations to come,” Vago said. “And this is why we are committed to Formula 1 for the long term and have extended our sponsorship as Global Partner.”

The “F1” feature was shot during actual Grand Prix weekends as the team competed against the titans of the sport. The star-studded cast also includes Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, Sarah Niles, Kim Bodnia and Samson Kayo.

Film includes real racing world experts

Made in partnership with Formula 1 and its 10 teams, the film has real racing world experts behind the project as well as big-name movie makers. Jerry Bruckheimer is producer and Joseph Kosinski is director.

“Both our brands share a commitment to innovation and excellence,’ Stefano Domenicali, president and CEO of Formula 1, said in a press release. “This collaboration has brought exceptional results, and we look forward to enhancing our relationship further. Together, we’ll continue pushing boundaries and setting new benchmarks in sports and hospitality.”
