The Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort and Spa is about a 20-minute drive from Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) near Fort Myers, Florida.
The resort is located in Bonita Springs, which is close to the beach and has its own island, but it’s not truly beachfront in the traditional sense. To get to the beach island you do have to take a ferry. They run them hourly and it’s about a 10 to 15 minute ride, Pelican Landing. The Hyatt Coconut Point outdoor property has a 3-acre waterpark, five waterslides, a lazy river, multiple pools, a rock wall for climbing, golf and of course the private island.
The five waterslides in the resort were the first stop for the kids! They do have a height requirement, which they will measure each kid and wristband them so they know which ones they can go on. My 9 year old met the 48” requirement for all slides, while our 6 year old did not, she was plenty happy with the corkscrew slide and lazy river. There is a zero entry and small slide and play area in the adventure pool for any of the little littles! The corkscrew waterslide, was a fan favorite with our group and the kids were up and down that thing countless times. We couldn’t keep the older kids off the taller inner tube slide and out of the lazy river. For adults not looking to share the water with lots of kids, there is an official adult pool.
We were also lucky enough to enjoy an Adventure cabana for the day, and I will say it’s a MUST! Shaded Comfy couches, mini fridge, sunny lounge chairs, your own waitstaff and a TV! Having a cabana and a comfortable spot for the kids to come back to when they were hungry or needed a break was key for a perfect pool day.
We only got to spend one day at the resort, but we highly recommend the Hyatt Coconut Point Resort and Spa as an excellent family destination. We all look forward to going back on our next trip to SW FL, I want to try the spa next!
