Last week, I made note of a new itinerary that Lindblad Expeditions has introduced, called The Fabled Lands of the North. Scheduled for departure on August 24, 2013, this 15-day voyage on the National Geographic Explorer will visit Greenland, Baffin Island, Newfoundland & Labrador.
This week my I got a mailing notifying me that Lindblad will be conducting a webinar on Thursday Sep. 27, 2012. For those of you who are considering an Arctic cruise, now or in the future, this sounds to be a fascinating discussion.
“ A mere 600 miles from the North Pole, located in Norway’s High Arctic, Svalbard
is true wilderness — and the polar bear capital of the world. Join us for a virtual
exploration of the High Arctic. See wild polar bears hunting along the pack ice and a landscape
alive with wildness. Meet Michael S. Nolan, Naturalist & Lindblad/National Geographic-certified
photo instructor. Hear Michael live online and ask him anything you ever wanted to know about the Arctic.”
The line says Mr. Nolan will be covering the following talking points, as well as others:
• Learn how to spot wild polar bears roaming the pack ice.
• See photos and hear stories from past Arctic expeditions.
• Find out more about Lindblad’s Expedition Photography Program.
