Judy Wells fell in love with cruising when living in Turkey she was invited on a yawl’s shakedown cruise from Izmir to Bodrum then took the White Boat along the Black Sea from Sinop to the Russian border and back. She has since watched Tinker Bell christen the Disney Wonder, rounded the Horn, been chased by a bull sea lion during a cruise through the Galapagos and spent many an hour on deck through the Mediterranean, Caribbean and Atlantic.
A prize-winning writer/photographer for more than 40 years, her work has appeared in major newspapers from The Florida Times-Union to the Washington Post and in publications as diverse as Equus Sport and Planning Your Meetings. She blogs at Travel on the Level, Food Afar, WellsWorld and, with a colleague, Good Girls in the Badlands.
She has served on the board and as Eastern Chapter Chair of the Society of American Travel Writers and also belongs to the International Food, Wine and Travel Writers Association.
