Music lovers are going to have new bandstands for live entertainment at the Lido Pool on Holland America Oosterdam and Holland America Zuiderdam.
The new additions are part of Holland America Evolution, a more than $500 million investment introducing guest-favorite venues, new staterooms and suites and other enhancements across six Vista and Signature Class ships.
Expanding on Holland America Line’s already robust entertainment lineup, the addition gives guests even more opportunities to enjoy performances throughout their cruise while creating a central hub for special events and celebrations.
The first venue will debut on Oosterdam following its Evolution transformation in fall 2027.
“Evolution is about bringing the very best of Holland America Line to more of our fleet,” Beth Bodensteiner, president of Holland America Line, said in a press release.
“Over the past several years, we’ve been on a journey to expand and elevate our entertainment offerings across the fleet, guided by what our guests tell us they love most,” she said.
“The new Lido Pool bandstands are another step in that effort, creating more opportunities to enjoy live music and memorable performances in one of the ship’s most popular gathering spaces.”
Programming at the new venue will include a variety of musical acts, from solo performers to energetic live bands, along with events connected to Holland America Line’s signature Orange Party and other guest-favorite traditions.
The Lido Pool’s retractable glass roof allows guests to enjoy the space throughout the voyage, rain or shine.
Evolution Expands the Pinnacle Class Experience
The largest fleet update in the company’s 153-year history, Holland America Evolution is revitalizing six Vista and Signature Class ships with a blend of Pinnacle Class-inspired experiences, new offerings and guest favorites.
Oosterdam and Zuiderdam are the first two ships in the program. In addition to the new poolside bandstands, guests sailing aboard Oosterdam and Zuiderdam following their transformations will enjoy a number of enhancements, including the introduction of the popular Grand Dutch Café and new staterooms and suites.
Together, the updates are designed to bring some of the line’s most-loved experiences to more of the fleet while creating additional space and amenities for guests.
Bookings are now open for Oosterdam’s and Zuiderdam’s cruises following both refurbishments, giving guests an early opportunity to experience updated staterooms, enhanced spaces and expanded venues firsthand.
