Have You Ever Circumnavigated an Entire Country Before?

Read below about new, exciting voyages from my friends at Hurtigruten Cruises:

In the summer of 2020, we have two exciting itineraries that completely circumnavigate Iceland! Aboard MS Fram, named after the legendary ship used by Norwegian explorers Fridtjof Nansen and Roald Amundsen, each expedition dives deep into the history, culture, and wildlife of this magnificent island country. Plus, MS Fram will be completely refurbished in the spring of 2020; not only will her cabins and public areas be redesigned using natural Scandinavian materials, she’ll also undergo major technical upgrades, bringing her to the highest environmental standards.

On each of these exciting cruises, you’ll discover hot springs, geysers, waterfalls, and glaciers; meet the friendly locals; and search for a wide variety of wildlife. Find out more, below:

Circumnavigating Iceland
June 15, 2020 / June 23, 2020 / July 1, 2020 / July 9, 2020 / July 17, 2020

On our 9-day Circumnavigating Iceland expedition, you’ll spend a full day each in Stykkishólmur, Akureyri, and Bakkagerði. Stykkishólmur is known for its fascinating museums and stunning scenery due to the town’s location by Breiðafjörður Bay; Akureyri is the second most populated city in northern Iceland and is a short distance from the spectacular Goðafoss Waterfall; and Bakkagerði, often called the ‘land of the elves,’ is home to just 100 inhabitants, and is surrounded by vast mountains.

The Ultimate Circumnavigation of Iceland
July 25, 2020 / August 4, 2020

Our 11-day Ultimate Circumnavigation of Iceland visits the same locations mentioned above, plus Djúpavík, Húsavík, and the Langanes Peninsula. Djúpavík is home to a herring salting factory, built in the early 1900s; Húsavík is renowned for whale watching, especially humpback and minke whales; and the Langanes Peninsula is an extremely popular seabird breeding site—in fact, it has the third largest gannet nesting place in the world!
