ENTER CHEF MAURO COLAGRECO AND HIS THREE-STARRED MIRAZUR
In an acknowledgment of how the Culinary World has embraced Silversea’s S.A.L.T., one of the world’s foremost restaurants is collaborating in a unique partnership. The 3 Michelin-starred restaurant, Mirazur, and its celebrated Chef, Mauro Colagreco, will host Silversea’s guests in a unique culinary experience. It will be offered in two ports of call, Monte Carlo and Menton in both 2023 and 2024. And it goes far beyond simply dining in the restaurant named the World’s best in 2019.
ADAM SACHS, DIRECTOR OF SILVERSEA’S S.A.L.T. PROGRAMME, EXPLAINS…
“I’ve long admired Mauro Colagreco’s talent, passion and creativity. With his world-class team of farmers, purveyors, bakers and chefs, Mauro has created both a unique expression of coastal Mediterranean cuisine as well as a beautiful vision of what an ethical restaurant ecosystem could be. I could not be happier to collaborate with them to be able to share the Mirazur story and experience with the guests of our S.A.L.T. program. The response we have received to this unique initiative demonstrates our guests’ interest in tailor-made, exclusive experiences. Beyond just an opportunity to dine at one of the world’s best restaurants, our Mirazur experience will form truly meaningful connections between our guests and the cuisine and culture of the region,” said Adam Sachs, Co-Creator and Director of Silversea’s S.A.L.T. program.
“MIRAZUR IS MUCH MORE THAN A RESTAURANT”—MAURO MALGRECO
A native of Argentina, Chef Colagreco’s career has always focused on passion and discovery. His cuisine transcends seasonality. His culinary creations are linked to nature and his commitment is to protect the Earth by honoring nature’s cycles with a “Circular Gastronomy.” He works relentlessly to honor the environment. And of all his food-world accolades, being nominated as the first chef nominated UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for Biodiversity is one of his proudest moments.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT MIRAZUR
“We are so glad to have the chance to allow Silversea’s guests to discover this complexity, opening the doors of our tasting kitchen to immerse travelers into the unique craft of Mirazur and to explore the link between humans and nature on the French Riviera,” so says Chef Colagreco.
THE IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE BEGINS AT MENTON’S MARKET
Hosted by Mirazur’s chefs, bakers, and gardeners, S.A.L.T.’s excursion begins with a trip to Menton’s old town. There a member of the Mirazur team will guide small groups of no more than 12. In this introduction to the regional food culture, the guides share their insights into local produce—from fresh, seasonal vegetables to distinctive cheeses–explaining how they are selected for one of the world’s best restaurants.
NEXT, A VISIT TO CHEF COLAGRECO’S SUSTAINABLE, ARTISINAL BAKERY, MITRON
Here, guests will learn about ancient grains and taste a range of traditionally baked breads and pastries—produced sustainably through certified organic agriculture. A visit to the bake house, and Menton’s oldest wood oven, allows an opportunity to meet the local artisanal bakers, and to see first-hand how these experts use different varieties of wheat, milled daily to preserve freshness and flavor.
THEN IT IS ON TO…SANCTUARIES DEL MIRAZUR
These are five biodynamic vegetable gardens that extend from the sea to the mountains. Owned by Mirazur, teams of gardeners study the best altitudes and conditions to grow everything from Menton’s famous lemons and no less than 39 varieties of tomatoes! Nestled between Monte Carlo and the Italian border the crops form the basis of the cuisine at Mirazur, which celebrates the incredible diversity of the region’s cuisine.
THE CONCLUSION…A NINE-COURSE TASTING MENU
In Mirazur’s private tasting kitchen, Silversea guests will travel on a sensory journey centered on bold dishes created with Chef Colagreco’s passion, vision and Italo-Argentine heritage. Virtually everything is sourced from the Mirazur gardens as a complement to s seafood, fresh from the Mediterranean Sea below, and varying by season. Silversea’s guests will be among a limited group who have sampled Chef Colagreco’s inimitable culinary concepts in the scenic setting of the world-famous, three Michelin-starred Mirazur restaurant.
