Crystal Cruise’s Voluntourism Adventures let you give back during your vacation

Ultra-luxury cruise line, Crystal Cruises, launched their You Care, We Care program in 2011. With this voluntourisim program Crystal offers complimentary, volunteer focused shore excursions on many of their sailings all around the globe. This is a wonderful way to give back to those in need around the world and to create meaningful memories for your family.

Here are just a few You Care. We Care excursions that I found interesting:

The Granitos de Paz Foundation

In Cartegena, Columbia visit Granitos de Paz Foundation, a non profit that assists those in need with work training, reading and writing programs, health and nutritional support, and so much more. During this excursion you will visit the foundation’s facility, learn about their mission, and meet those that they serve. Then you can pick an activity such as practicing English with a young person or spending time with the elderly.

Conservation at the Territory Wildlife Park

In Darwin Australia visit the Territory Wildlife Park. This park is focused on conservation and protecting the biodiversity of the area. During your visit a volunteer leader will guide you through a project to support the park.

Arts & Crafts Workshop

In Huatulco, Mexico visit an arts and crafts workshop supported by the Bacaanda Foundation. This foundation operates dental clinics in areas remote areas that do not have access to this care. They offer their dental services free of charge to children and elderly and at reduced rates to all others. During this excursion you will help create crafts that are sold to help support their mission.

Helping Hand at San Francisco Food Bank

In San Francisco, California visit the San Francisco Food Bank. This organization provides more than 100,000 meals a day for this area. During your visit you will help sort and pack food that will be distributed to those in need.

Volunteering with Backyard Bounty

In Santa Barbara California visit Backyard Bounty. This organization collects produce that would otherwise have been wasted and then ensures it gets to those who need it. During this visit you will harvest and organize produce so that it can be distributed.
