Seabourn

About Seabourn:

Seabourn’s smaller, all-suite ships showcase ultra-luxury cruising vacations to a variety of memorable itineraries.

Their ships each carry a maximum of 604 guests and nearly the same amount of staff, providing a high level of personalized service.

All accommodations are ocean-view suites with a stocked bar, marble or granite bath and in-suite entertainment. The majority of these suites also feature balconies.

Seabourn’s “Signature Delights” include: complimentary wines and spirits; free Massage Moments on deck; Dress Circle enrichment speakers; and Movies Under the Stars. The line also offers water sports from a fold-out Marina and Pure Pampering therapeutic bathing experiences from Molton Brown, London.

Seabourn Cruises is best for:

Travelers who prefer destination-rich small ship cruising; those who value impeccable service, superb cuisine and relaxed laid-back luxury over flash and glitter.

The ships of Seabourn Cruises:

  • Seabourn Encore (604 Passengers)
  • Seabourn Odyssey (458 Passengers)
  • Seabourn Ovation (604 Passengers)
  • Seabourn Pursuit (E) (264 Passengers) – to debut in August 2023
  • Seabourn Quest (458 Passengers)
  • Seabourn Sojourn (458 Passengers)
  • Seabourn Venture (E) (264 Passengers)

The atmosphere and experience onboard Seabourn Cruises:

A cruise aboard a Seabourn ship offers a quiet, relaxed kind of luxury. The spacious outside suites feature refined modern decor, large picture windows, balconies or verandas. The ships have expansive open decks and Seabourn’s signature water sports Marina.

Service is, of course, impeccable, and the cuisine equals that of any top restaurant on land.

Seabourn ships have several dining venues, ranging from the beautiful Restaurant, which has open seating and serves both local dishes and international favorites to casual indoor/outdoor Colonnade. Restaurant 2 is an alternate dining venue, open only for dinner specializing in small plates and requiring reservations due to limited capacity. The casual Patio Grill has an open kitchen and serves diners outdoors by the pool.

As might be expected in a ship of this kind, the entertainment and onboard activities tend to be educational and thoughtful, with seminars, lectures, wine-tastings and culinary events. In the evening, there may be variety acts, classical music or a Broadway revue.

On one cruise day, the aft hatch of the ship is opened, launching the marina. Passengers can then ride banana boats, swim, water-ski, kayak or sail.

The two-deck Spa at Seabourn has six treatment rooms, steam rooms, saunas, a pool and fitness studio.

Shore excursions are typical; however fee-based unique experiences can be arranged by the concierge.

As Seabourn is an upmarket brand, country-club casual is appropriate for daytime. In the evening, the usual dress could be described as “elegant casual,” with slacks and jackets for men and high-end sportswear for women. Jeans are not appropriate for the restaurant or on the “formal optional” evenings. About once a week, there’s a “formal optional” evening, which mean passengers may dress up in formal apparel if they wish.

If there is one thing that reflects Seabourn’s brand of luxury, it is the signature “Caviar in the Surf” beach party, which is offered on many cruises to the Caribbean, Belize, Indonesia and Thailand. Guests are tendered ashore, feted with caviar and champagne served by uniformed crew members and served a lavish beach barbecue on fine china.
