SeaDream Yacht Club – Ultra Luxury Small-Ship Cruise Line

About SeaDream Yacht Club

SeaDream Yacht Club’s slogan is: “It’s yachting, not cruising,” which accurately describes the experience on SeaDream I and SeaDream II, the company’s award-winning mega-yachts. With a maximum of 112 guests (56 staterooms) and a 95-person crew, there’s a choice of whether to mix and mingle and make new friends – or to dine and hang out alone with a spouse or friend.

Though the twin “mega yachts,” SeaDream I and SeaDream II, are neither as new or as flashy as some of the other small ships, the decks are teak and the staterooms are spacious and comfortable, with seating areas, large flat-screen TVs, CD and DVD systems, Internet-ready outlets, marble-clad bathrooms, robes and slippers, Belgian linens and Bulgari® bath amenities. The bars and refrigerators are stocked daily with complimentary beer, soft drinks and bottled spring water.

The service is impeccable and the food is outstanding. The fares include an open bar with select premium spirits, gratuities and use of the water toys (banana boats, wave runners, etc.) that are unloaded regularly from the yacht’s Marina. Though shore excursions are not included, the crew often organizes informal walks, mountain bike rides and other shore activities. The yachts have tiny casinos and Asian-theme SeaDream spas staffed by Thai-trained estheticians.

When quiet time is desired, there are cozy nooks and corners throughout the vessels. For lounging (or sleeping) under the stars, it’s hard to beat the signature Balinese beds on the upper deck, (turndown service upon request).

The yachts sail itineraries in the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, Asia and Northern Australia (with annual Transatlantic crossings). Their size allows them to visit small ports not accessible to large ships and they frequently include overnight stays, which allow guests to experience the nightlife in a port city.

SeaDream Yacht Club Cruises are best for:

Affluent adults who want a luxury yacht-like experience that is free of crowds;
Couples looking for romantic getaways.

The atmosphere and experience onboard SeaDream Yacht Club Cruises:

Service is key, and by the end of the first day, crew members will probably know the guests’ drink choices, whether they prefer tables for two or larger seating groups and other small niceties that guarantee a luxury experience.

The line’s theme is “Casual Perfection,” which translates to casual but smart dress onboard (no Captain’s dinners, no black tie, no evening gowns), very few intrusive announcements and such elegant touches as crystal drinking glasses in the staterooms, candlelit dining tables set with crystal and fine china, food cooked to order, tea leaves steeped in china pots and served in delicate china cups. The signature event on Caribbean cruises, the Champagne and Caviar Splash, takes place on a beach, with the crew serving fine caviar and Champagne in the surf.

Regarding children onboard SeaDream Yacht Club Cruises: No child under the age of one (1) year at the time of sailing will be accepted as guests.

There are no formal children’s programs or babysitting services available on the yacht. When families are on board, parents are expected to manage the behavior of their children to ensure that the enjoyment of other guests is in no way compromised. A SeaDream cruise could work well for older children who enjoy traveling with their parents and who do not require dedicated onboard entertainment. Also possible, families traveling with au pairs or nannies for their children – but in fact, families with children are rarely seen on a SeaDream yacht.
