About Oceanwide Expeditions:

Oceanwide Expeditions is a Dutch company and is one of the pioneers in ship-based exploratory tourism in the Arctic and Antarctica, inventors of Basecamp Antarctica. They organize expedition style cruises to the Arctic (Greenland, Svalbard) and North Atlantic, as well as cruises to the Antarctic and Sub-Atlantic Islands.

They own, manage and operate the five vessels. The vessels comply with highest international safety standards and allow their professional crew to navigate safely through pack-ice and remote narrow waterways. The size, capacity and capability of their small ships have proven to be a successful formula for exploring the remote regions for many years. Their expedition vessels offer a comfortable, friendly, intimate and informal atmosphere.

Their ships are not luxurious cruise vessels, but accommodation and on-board life are cozy and comfortable. Their voyages are primarily defined as explorations and they spend as much time ashore as possible.

They can be flexible, taking advantage of wildlife opportunities by using zodiacs for both landings and cruises. Their knowledgeable guides assist on these outings, providing detailed information. This is supplemented by lectures on board which covers topics such as geology, wildlife and history.
