About the Institute for Shipboard Education:
The Institute for Shipboard Education is a private, nonprofit, educational corporation that sponsors the valuable “Change the World, One Child at a Time” program.
Their mission is to help develop leaders who have the knowledge and perspective necessary to promote greater understanding of all peoples and all cultures, and they afford travelers the opportunity to impact the world in a positive way. The “Change the World, One Child at a Time” program allows cruisers to meet and interact with local children in the cities and villages the ship visits. Cruisers can work with children in these local communities to read or tell stories, demonstrate hobbies or play games, teach or help with meal preparation, instruct how to cultivate a garden or help with laundry or general cleaning.
Nobel Laureates Mother Teresa and Archbishop Desmond Tutu have honored previous ISE activities with their presence and involvement.
