It’s not surprising that Atlas Ocean Voyages chose New York City’s Explorer’s Club, a professional society dedicated to the promotion of field research, scientific exploration and resource conservation, to announce its new era of luxury expedition sailing.
Atlas Ocean Voyages has redefined the expedition experience through a combination of relaxed luxury, a spirit of exploration, immersive experiences, globally inspired cuisine and a firm devotion to the sustainability that reflects the line’s respect for the waters on which they sail. And while many of us may limit our definition of “expedition” to the world’s polar destinations, Atlas surprises us with its collection of Epicurean and Cultural expeditions—sailings that apply the same immersive “expedition”approach to exclusive destinations throughout Northern Europe and the Mediterranean.
With its fleet of three 9,930 grt, 196-guest ships—World Traveller, World Navigator and World Voyager—Atlas Ocean Voyages has, since its launch in 2019, made quite a splash in the world of expedition cruises. In fact, 25% of the line’s guests are return customers.
Today, Atlas Ocean Voyages CEO James A. Rodriguez and Mario Ferreira, Chairman/Founder/Owner of Atlas parent company Mystic Investment Holding, joined together to announce the line’s new era: Atlas Adventurer. With a cutting-edge design that features three striking sailing masts that reduce fuel consumption by up to 40% and results in a near-silent sailing experience, this new 689-foot, 26,000 grt, 400-guest all-suite Atlas Ocean Voyages yacht debuts in 2028.
Atlas Adventurer will conform to the line’s near all-inclusive format with seven complimentary dining venues, four distinct lounges and cocktail bars ranging from refined evening settings to relaxed ocean view daytime spaces, indoor/outdoor entertainment spots, an expanded fitness and spa wellness center and an innovative marina platform with ocean pool, on-deck swimming pool, sun loungers and whirlpools.
While this new luxury expedition sailing yacht marks Atlas Ocean Voyages debut in Asia and Africa with a 128-day Grand Odyssey Expedition of Asia and Africa (Kobe to Capetown) part of her inaugural season, make no mistake: Atlas Adventurer is designed for cruising worldwide destinations with features that include methanol-based hybrid propulsion, an air draft of 68.5 meters and Ice Class 1B (Polar Category C) capability.
