Dennis Cox is an award-winning travel and location photographer for magazines, books, corporate publications and advertising. He is also a book publisher, cruise blogger, fashion & travel poster designer. He has photographed in over 130 countries and territories on all seven continents and has specialized in photographing China since 1976. His photographs have appeared in an eclectic range of publications in numerous countries worldwide.
In his 14th book of photographs, “Cruising the World, From Gondolas to Megaships,” his images chronicle the incredible diversity and originality of cruise boats and ships around the globe. They range from gondolas to megaships, converted rice boats to expedition vessels, windjammers to riverboats, junks to canal barges (occasionally even in the same photo).
A member of the Society of American Travel Writers (SATW) for 25 years and SATW’s Travel Photographer of the Year for 1997, Dennis was also runner-up for that honor in 1998, 1999 and 2006, as well as placing third in 1996. In 1984 his portfolio on China in the Minolta Mirror won an “Award of Excellence” from Communication Arts.
Dennis has been a photography workshop instructor, taught photography at a community college, and has written for several photography magazines both nationally and internationally. He designs women’s fashions and men’s ties for ShopVIDA.com and designs custom travel posters marketed by FineArtAmerica.com. Since 1981 he has taken photography groups to over 25 countries around the world as the owner of Photo Explorer Tours.
