Princess Cruises Receives Environmental Accolades

Sea Princess

Princess Cruises’ Sea Princess has won, for the sixth year in a row, the Port of San Francisco’s “Cruise Ship Environmental” award.  The award, which recognizes cruise ships that go above and beyond existing environmental regulations of the San Francisco Bay area, is given to ships that call four or more times per year at the port, and show a commitment to preserving and protecting the environment.

The Sea Princess can “plug in” to the city’s power grid, rather than use its engines to power onboard services- reducing emissions and taking advantage of the technology provided by a new shore power facility that was launched in 2010.  San Francisco was only the fourth city in the world to provide facilities where Princess Cruises’ ships can take advantage of this innovative technology.

Sea Princess is currently based out of San Francisco, cruising on 10-day roundtrip Alaska cruises.   To see a listing of her upcoming sailings, click here.
