Right now I feel as if I have been in a whirlwind trip around the world. And perhaps I have.
It was just a few weeks ago that I returned from a rather long trip that involved two cruises, a transatlantic crossing on the Queen Mary 2 and a two-week river cruise through Eastern Europe aboard Uniworld’s River Duchess.
My mind is still processing all that we saw and did on that trip (I now know the difference between Bucharest, Budapest and Bratislava). However, in my capacity as editor of AllThingsCruise I also travel along with all of our writers. As a result, in just the past week, I have been in ancient Greece with Edward Garrett (Aegean Odyssey) , in Alaska with Jackie Finch (Wilderness Explorer) and now I am in Norway with Julie Hatfield (MS Nordlys) and her hubby Tim Leland. I also made a memorable trip on the Mississippi with Jackie on the resurrected American Queen (she has been a very busy lady). What wonderful memories that brought back to me of my own trip on that vessel.
And earlier in the spring I traveled with Barbara Orr through the tulip fields aboard the small river barge, La Panache.
While reading their stories and posting their photos I am transported…in some cases to places where I have been and, in some others, to place I may someday visit.
I hope that you, our readers, will become part of that journey. We encourage you to comment on our postings. A lively dialogue is essential to the health of any website and we want to hear from you.
